If you haven’t yet heard of it or checked it out, then you should certainly give Reddit a look. The self proclaimed, “front page of the internet” website, is were content goes to become relevant and viral. It’s a huge community where people share based on topics. There are topics for everything, each under a subreddit. Now when I say everything, I am understating things to the nth degree. There are literally subreddits for everything imaginable. If you can’t find a subreddit you like then you’re obviously not a human being. Think of Reddit as a huge building and each room in that building is a subreddit. In each room, or subreddit, there are people talking, or sharing content, about that particular topic. Content can be anything from photos and videos to personal thoughts and stories to links to articles on other websites. Funny, sad, true, false, motivating, depressive are all different types of content you can find. Reddit is infinitely vast and growing everyday.

I will admit it’s a bit weird to navigate at first and getting used to it can take some time. It’s not very intuitive for the novice, like most well designed websites are nowadays, but I can promise that if you use it you will get used to it and find how valuable Reddit can be. When you first sign up you are automatically subscribed to a few subreddits and will be following those, so one of the first things you should do is unsubscribe from any auto subreddits you don’t like and search for anything that interests you and subscribe to those subreddits. Each subreddit has a set of rules about posting and how to conduct yourself in that subreddit, be sure to follow those or you can be banned from that subreddit. So go and explore the world of Reddit and more importantly learn a few things and enjoy it.

Below are some of my favorite subreddits to help you get started:
