Motorcycle Tour Across The Country

posted in: Travel | 0

A few years back a friend of mine convinced me to get a bike. Not a bicycle, an actual motorcycle. So I bought one, but haven’t ridden it much because I’ve just been unloading my pockets into customizing it. You know, typical moron behavior. Well, this year I was convinced to go on a trip across the United States . . . by the same friend. So we’ve been rushing to get my bike back together to go on this tour next month. I’m pretty excited about it though. I’ll see some great places, get some experiences from it, and hopefully meet some really cool people along the way. It will also give me a reason to write as we’ll be documenting the trip.

The plan is to go out into the road for 30 days, and although we have some set locations we want to check out, we’ll really just take it one mile at a time. We live in Jersey so going west is our primary goal. On the list are Denver, Salt Lake City and the Salt Flats nearby, Pacific Coast Highway 1, Joshua Tree Park, Grand Canyon, Houston, New Orleans and who knows where else if time permits. The trip will be 3 of us on motorcycles and we plan to camp out as much as possible.

I’ll be updating the site here with any stories but we also plan to get a dedicated blog up for the trip where we can kind of create a trip diary for the 3 of us. I’ll update this post once that’s up. You can also follow us on Instagram (@brunoamar, @marcopenajoia, @mistagomes) to see our posts. We all work in production so it was only obvious that we document our trip and even take advantage of the trip to create a documentary video we are going to call Purpose.

If anyone knows any cool places to check out along the way please be sure to drop it in the comments and I hope you all enjoy following us along on our trip.

UPDATE (8/11/15)

The plan was to leave Friday, August 7th but due to bike problems we had to postpone the trip for a week. It is still on and will be happening this summer. You can follow the trip at 6onasphalt.com.
